Physical Agility Course

All police recruit and police lateral applicants must successfully complete a physical agility course. The physical agility course is held at the Burbank Police Department Firing Range, located at 2244 Wildwood Canyon Road in Burbank, California.

The physical agility course is designed to simulate an urban foot pursuit a police officer might face in the performance of their duties. It must be completed in two minutes (02:00) or less. Candidates have two attempts to successfully complete the course.

Physical agility tests are typically held on one Saturday per month. Candidates will be notified of their physical agility test date.

Candidates can apply at BurbankCA.gov. *New recruits (non-laterals) must register with the National Testing Network prior to taking the written exam.

Law enforcement is a physically-demanding career. Candidates must complete a physical agility course in two minutes or less.

A psychological exam is designed to evaluate a candidate's ability to handle the stresses that accompany a career in law enforcement.
